School building re-roof

Detail: 

Major re-roof of approx. 60% of existing school buildings.

Project challenges: 

Time limitations meant that APS had to allow for staged completion during term whilst school was operational.

Outcome: 

Staged works block by block, with order of sequence according to the school’s preference.

This programme required close liaison with the school management, including daily progress updates, to allow for classroom rotation.  The benefits of this close working relationship were that:

• APS completed the project more than one month ahead of schedule, and within budget.
• The school had considerable influence on positive outcomes through close consultation.
• The school was able to include the community in its efforts to modernise the school through regular progress updates.
